Basketball Recap: Edgemont Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Raelee Provorse and Hadley Hollenbeck

Edgemont scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Philip Scotties. The Moguls' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hadley Hollenbeck and Raelee Provorse certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Hollenbeck dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Provorse went 9 of 15 on her way to 21 points. With that strong performance, Hollenbeck is now averaging an impressive 8.5 rebounds per game.

Josie Jones was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds for Philip. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fayth Martin, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Edgemont fell to 3-1. As for Philip, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgemont will welcome Crazy Horse at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edgemont is facing Crazy Horse at the right time seeing as Crazy Horse is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Philip, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lemmon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
