Soccer Recap: Statesville Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Statesville can now relate to. They lost 5-0 to the A.C. Reynolds Rockets on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Statesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 208th, while A.C. Reynolds are ranked 16th).

Statesville has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10-5 record this season. As for A.C. Reynolds, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Statesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for A.C. Reynolds, they will be playing at home against Alexander Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
