Basketball Recap: Melvindale Comes Up Short

Melvindale lost against River Rouge back in March of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Melvindale Cardinals came up short against the River Rouge Panthers, falling 77-55. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd in Michigan, while the Panthers are ranked 78th in Michigan).

Melvindale's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for River Rouge, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.

Melvindale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for River Rouge, they will face off against Dearborn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Rouge has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 241 points over their last three matchups.
