Softball Recap: IC Catholic Prep Takes a Loss

IC Catholic Prep suffered their closest loss since May 27, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Niles West Wolves by a score of 9-7. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sofia Bucaro was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lexi Russ, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

IC Catholic Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Niles West, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7.

Coincidentally, IC Catholic Prep and Niles West will both be playing Oak Lawn the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Spartans at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wolves will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
