Basketball Recap: Central Aroostook Comes Up Short

Central Aroostook lost against Katahdin back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Central Aroostook Panthers took a 58-41 bruising from the Katahdin Cougars. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Central Aroostook has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Katahdin, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central Aroostook Panthers take on the Fort Fairfield Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fort Fairfield has four straight victories, Central Aroostook has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for Katahdin, they will face off against Fort Kent at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Katahdin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Fort Kent likes a good challenge.
