It was a good run, but Lutheran unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the De Smet Jesuit Spartans. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Rylan Versemann paced Lutheran's offense, picking up five kills. Versemann got some help from Charlie Bennett and his nine assists.

Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. De Smet Jesuit has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against St. Dominic on the 29th. As for De Smet Jesuit, they will head out to take on Mehlville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
