Basketball Game Preview: Forsyth Central Bulldogs vs. Alpharetta Raiders

The Forsyth Central Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Alpharetta Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Forsyth Central is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against North Forsyth on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Forsyth Central was dealt a 79-26 loss at the hands of North Forsyth. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-14.

Meanwhile, Alpharetta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 58-9 loss at the hands of South Forsyth. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while the War Eagles are ranked 83rd).

Trinity Marie was Alpharetta's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Alpharetta's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Forsyth Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Forsyth Central against Alpharetta in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 54-27 win. Does Forsyth Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alpharetta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
