Basketball Recap: Mound City Victorious

Mound City's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 win over the South Holt Knights. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Knights back in December of 2024, they had to take a 65-44 defeat.

Mound City's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for South Holt, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Mound City will challenge Union Star at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Holt, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tarkio at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
