Football Recap: Joe Rodriguez and Frank Torres Secure Win for Cotulla

Cotulla won the last time they faced Pearsall and things went their way on Friday too. The Cowboys blew past the Mavericks 26-6. The Cowboys' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Cotulla was led to victory by Frank Torres and Joe Rodriguez. Torres rushed for 49 yards and one TD, while Rodriguez picked up 95 receiving yards and one score. Rodriguez's longest reception was for an incredible 95 yards.

Cotulla didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryan Sanchez and Brayden Rodriguez. Sanchez is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Cotulla now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pearsall, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

After each having a week off, Cotulla and Nixon-Smiley will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The game will give the Cowboys their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Pearsall, they will head out on the road to face off against Poteet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
