Football Recap: Cheney Tech Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Cheney Tech kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 30-0 loss at the hands of the Stratford Red Devils. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Stratford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Hill, who picked up 146 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Those 146 receiving yards gave Hill a new career-high. Blake Merfalen was another key passer, throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes.

Cheney Tech has already played their next contest, a 21-13 loss against Wilcox Tech/Kaynor RVT on the 19th. As for Stratford, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 27-14 win against Bethel on the 19th.
