Basketball Recap: Gilroy's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Gilroy had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals 49-35 on Wednesday. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 54-39 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Gilroy's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-12. As for Mt. Pleasant, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Evergreen Valley the next time they take the court. Mt. Pleasant will host Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Gilroy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th.
