Willow Spring and Clayton are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Willow Spring Storm will host the Clayton Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Willow Spring is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

Willow Spring lost 11-4 to Holly Springs on Thursday. The match marked the Storm's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lynlee Ogburn and Aly Sauerbrei stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ogburn went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Sauerbrei got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Sauerbrei hit this season. Abby Howard was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Clayton put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Heritage with a sharp 11-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Willow Spring's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Clayton, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Everything went Willow Spring's way against Clayton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Willow Spring made off with a 12-1 victory. Does Willow Spring have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clayton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
