Softball Game Preview: Southwest Legacy Titans vs. Jay Mustangs

The Southwest Legacy Titans will square off against the Jay Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southwest Legacy has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 4.

Southwest Legacy came up short against Southwest on Thursday, falling 18-3.

Amy Saul was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Jay can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Winn.

Esperanza Amezquita spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jennifer Galindo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Zareth Gomez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Jay's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Southwest Legacy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
