Preview: IDEA Sports Park vs. Port Isabel
The IDEA Sports Park Stingrays will head out on the road to take on the Port Isabel Tarpons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, IDEA Sports Park was the victim of a tough 13-1 defeat at the hands of La Feria. IDEA Sports Park has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though Port Isabel has not done well against Rio Hondo recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Port Isabel never let Rio Hondo onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Port Isabel.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Valery Gonzalez and
Daniela Hernandez Romero, who scored both of Port Isabel's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 13 so far this season.
IDEA Sports Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Port Isabel, their win bumped their record up to 5-6-1.
IDEA Sports Park might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Port Isabel when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can IDEA Sports Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
