Baseball Game Preview: St. Michaels Saints vs. Easton Warriors

The St. Michaels Saints are taking a road trip to challenge the Easton Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Michaels' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Easton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

St. Michaels will head out to face Easton after giving up their first home loss of the season on Thursday. The Saints fell just short of Kent Island by a score of 5-4. The matchup marked the Saints' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

St. Michaels saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Grow, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Easton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They put the hurt on Colonel Richardson with a sharp 9-3 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Dylan Cassell was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Carter Mooney also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Easton's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for St. Michaels, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.

St. Michaels skirted past Easton 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
