Baseball Game Preview: Belmont Cardinals vs. Mooreville Troopers

For the second straight game, Belmont will face off against Mooreville. The Cardinals will host the Troopers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Belmont has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Belmont is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Mooreville on Friday. They lost 11-1 to the Troopers. The Cardinals have struggled against the Troopers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Belmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Pharr, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Mooreville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Belmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.
