Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Beckham Jarrard and Keon Childers Lead Statesboro to Victory + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Statesboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They strolled past the Greenbrier Wolfpack with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-28. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 43-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Statesboro's victory came down to the chemistry between Beckham Jarrard and his top target Keon Childers. Jarrard rushed for 134 yards on only 13 carries while Childers rushed for 142 yards and four TDs. The dominant performance also gave Jarrard a new career-high in passer rating (139.9).

Statesboro didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Greenbrier to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Keyonne Johnson, Dylan Balderas, and Daelyn White, who each logged one passes deflected. Statesboro wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 86.7%.

Despite the loss, Greenbrier still got an impressive performance from Beau Polcha, who rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and one score. Polcha's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Statesboro now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Greenbrier, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Statesboro will take on Glynn Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenbrier, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th.
