Baseball Game Preview: Sanger Indians vs. Alvarado Indians

Sanger will venture away from home to square off against Alvarado at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sanger is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Sanger is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Richland. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Kale Barr was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Michael McKeown looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Riley Tarwater was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Maddox VanderRoest was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Sanger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Alvarado earned a 6-3 victory over North Dallas on Thursday.

Sanger's record now sits at 19-11-2. As for Alvarado, their record is now 22-7-1.
