Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Riley Campbell and Faith Samek Lead Aquinas to Victory

Aquinas won the last time they faced Howells-Dodge and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Aquinas Monarchs walked away with a 48-41 victory over the Howells-Dodge Jaguars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Monarchs.

Leading Aquinas to victory were Faith Samek and Riley Campbell. Samek almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards, while Campbell posted 14 points and four steals. Campbell is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Miriam Frasher, who earned six points and ten rebounds.

Kenadie Throener and Jade Bayer certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Throener went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points along with five rebounds and three blocks, while Bayer went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Aquinas now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Howells-Dodge, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aquinas will take on Archbishop Bergan at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Howells-Dodge, they will face off against Humphrey-Lindsay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
