Softball Recap: Summit Drops Season-High Score on Caldera

Summit extended their losing streak to 12 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-17-1 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-14 heartbreaker at the hands of Caldera. On the bright side, the 14- run effort marked the Storm's highest-scoring contest to date.

As for Caldera, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games.

For Caldera's part, Annabelle Cox was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Cox has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Danika Hollibaugh, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Summit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Caldera, they have already played their next game, a 14-3 victory against South Eugene on the 21st.
