Recap: Victor Valley Jackrabbits vs. Western Christian Fighting Lancers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Victor Valley Jackrabbits, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of Western Christian by a score of 50-48. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Victor Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Hezekiah Jenkins, who rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Middlebrooks, who threw for 217 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
It was another big night for Jared Doolittle, who threw for 368 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Doolittle was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Elijah Vasquez was another key contributor, picking up 136 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Victor Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Western Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4.
Victor Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Western Christian will be playing at home against Cerritos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cerritos is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
