League recap: Fischer-colbrie throws longest pass in league this season for Mountain View

Will Fischer-colbrie and Ulysses Pena-prado provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Los Altos. The connection was good for 80 yards, the longest such play in De Anza this season.

Wilcox was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Chargers triumphed over Lynbrook 55-0.

Saratoga's dynamic duo of Jonathan Walters and Grant Faylor proved tough for Monta Vista to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Walters threw for 346 yards and five touchdowns and Faylor had 103 yards receiving. Kyle Dozier helped Saratoga's passing attack out by catching two balls for 74 yards.

Matt Tolbert was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 166 yards on 16 carries as Palo Alto bested the Matadors. Teammate Justin Gates-Mouton added to the ground attack by rushing for 27 yards.

5-foot-11 quarterback Walters of Saratoga is the league leader in passing yards this season with 917. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, the Vikings' Tolbert has rushed for 478 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Malcolm Davis. The Palo Alto star has 17 catches for 384 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Wilcox takes on Tim Lugo's team. Dan Brown's team is in third place, while the Falcons are in first place.

Saratoga moved up to 291 from 370 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of a 48-7 win over Monta Vista.
