Baseball Game Preview: Berry Wildcats vs. Marion County Red Raiders

For the second straight game, Berry will face off against Marion County. Berry will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Marion County at 4:30 p.m. Berry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Berry made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Marion County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Berry put the hurt on Marion County with a sharp 17-5 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Walker Edmonson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Morrison, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Shaun Waltrip was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Marion County is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13. As for Berry, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
