Basketball Game Preview: Surrey Mustangs vs. Bishop Ryan Lions

Surrey hasn't had much luck against Bishop Ryan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Surrey Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Ryan Lions at 7:15 p.m.

Surrey is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Towner-Granville-Upham.

Meanwhile, Bishop Ryan hadn't done well against Velva recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bishop Ryan came out on top against Velva by a score of 44-31 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Surrey's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Bishop Ryan, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.

Surrey couldn't quite finish off Bishop Ryan when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 37-34. Can Surrey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
