Baseball Game Preview: Clyde Fliers vs. Ontario Warriors

The Clyde Fliers will square off against the Ontario Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Clyde has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Clyde's last matchup with Perkins could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Fliers came up short against the Pirates, falling 13-6. The Fliers have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Clyde saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Lantz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Josh Swartz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ontario). They never let Pleasant get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ontario pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Clyde, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
