Sylvania scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Collinsville Panthers by a score of 15-14. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-6 back in March.

Mara Anderson led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Molly Weaver was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Sylvania has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Collinsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9-1 record this season.

Sylvania wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-8 loss against St. John Paul II on the 5th. As for Collinsville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-7 defeat against Geraldine on the 8th.
