Volleyball Recap: Winnebago Lutheran Academy Comes Up Short

Winnebago Lutheran Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Campbellsport Cougars. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Campbellsport scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 19-25, 25-22, 25-17.

Jenna Petrowitz paced Winnebago Lutheran Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Petrowitz got some help from Sam Unger and her 23 assists. Hailey Wolf controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Garvey Ayla was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last four contests.

Winnebago Lutheran Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-18. As for Campbellsport, they moved to 16-16 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Winnebago Lutheran Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Wautoma on the 14th. As for Campbellsport, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Lomira on the 16th.
