Softball Recap: Spring Hill Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Spring Hill extended their winning streak to nine on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 17-4 in the process. They blew past the Ottawa Cyclones 11-4. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Jayden Kistner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Campbell Mermis was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Reeves, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Spring Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 13 consecutive games.

As for Ottawa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On Ottawa's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chanelle Fuller, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As of now, neither Spring Hill nor the Cyclones have any future games scheduled.
