Softball Recap: Ironwood's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ironwood entered their tilt with Kellis on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-5 last Tuesday.

Alyssa Ridgley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on zero hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low.

At the plate, Madelaine Gober was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February of 2024. Serenity Meyer was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.

Ironwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.

Ironwood's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Kellis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
