Football Recap: Agua Fria Owls vs. Willow Canyon Wildcats
Agua Fria entered their match against Willow Canyon on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Agua Fria Owls took a hard 24-6 fall against the Willow Canyon Wildcats. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Willow Canyon had a senior duo take command as Roman Thuyns threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns and Tyus Dragon picked up 177 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those 307 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Thuyns. Quinn Nichols did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 88 receiving yards.
Agua Fria now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Willow Canyon, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.
Agua Fria will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Goldwater at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th. After each having a week off, Willow Canyon and Apollo will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
