Softball Recap: Royse City Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Royse City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Forney Jackrabbits get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since February 16, 2024.

Royse City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. Forney's defeat ended a 24-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-1-1.

Royse City and Forney should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Royse City (ranked 112th) will meet Tyler Legacy (ranked 715th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Royse City's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Forney's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Forney will square off against Longview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 337 places (7 vs. 344).
