New Fairfield took down Pomperaug on Wednesday, a win that might not have happened without Brendan Gaska's standout performance. Gaska produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
