Basketball Recap: Oak Hill Academy Red Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Oak Hill Academy Red won the last time they faced Hargrave Military Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Warriors came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 66-59.

Hargrave Military Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kendall Lanier, who went 5-for-12 en route to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, and Jalen Carter, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 18 points. Lanier is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Amare Word, who posted nine points.

Oak Hill Academy Red pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.6 points over those games. As for Hargrave Military Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Oak Hill Academy Red will head out to challenge Winston Salem Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hargrave Military Academy, they will take on Lab University Christian Academy National at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
