Saint Francis Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past St. Joseph Academy with points to spare, taking the game 39-23. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Allie Dey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 12 boards, and 12 blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Whisler, who posted six points and five boards.
Saint Francis Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Meanwhile, Trinity Catholic came up short against DME Academy Regional on Friday, falling 51-31. The Celtics have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Saint Francis Catholic will have to keep a close watch on Brionie Leahmon and Jaylyn Valdez, a pair of players who had a big impact on Trinity Catholic's prior game. Leahmon put up 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while Valdez had seven points. Those seven points gave Valdez a new career-high.
Trinity Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Saint Francis Catholic has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Trinity Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Saint Francis Catholic was taken down by Trinity Catholic 63-16 in their previous matchup last Tuesday. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Saint Francis Catholic was down 38-7.
