Mammoth had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They claimed a resounding 76-6 win over the Desert Scorpions. The victory was familiar territory for the Huskies, who have now won seven contests in a row dating back to last season.

Eli Ericson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 157 yards and three scores on only 14 carries, and also threw for 85 yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Hudson McCall was another key player, gaining 105 total yards and a touchdown.

Mammoth didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. TJ Weygand and DJ Gray were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece.

Looking ahead, Mammoth will take on Stuart Hall in a tournament on Saturday. As for Desert, they will host Immanuel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
