Softball Recap: Smithtown West Extends Winning Streak to Two

After only two runs in their last matchup, Smithtown West made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bellport on Friday. Smithtown West's pitchers stepped up to hand Bellport a 15-0 shutout. Smithtown West not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27, 2024 (when they won 17-0).

Erin McDaid made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Gabrielle Krayewski was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Jiselle Singh was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
