Basketball Recap: Granville Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Granville Christian Academy lost against Delaware Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Granville Christian Academy took a blow against the Delaware Christian Eagles, falling 57-21. While losing is never fun, Granville Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Delaware Christian is ranked 60th).

Several Granville Christian Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brynn Flowers, who posted nine points. That was a full 42.9% of Granville Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hamilton, who put up four points.

Delaware Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addy Beard, who had 22 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Beard is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Huffman, who posted 24 points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Granville Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Delaware Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Granville Christian Academy will welcome Shekinah Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shekinah Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season. As for Delaware Christian, they will host Liberty Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Delaware Christian's defense has only allowed 27.3 points per game this season, so Liberty Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
