Churchville-Chili is 0-9 against Brockport since May of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Saints will square off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Churchville-Chili will bounce into Monday's match after beating Irondequoit, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Saints' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 20-0 shutout on Saturday. That looming 20-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Saints yet this season.

Jordan Sassone made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season.
In other batting news, Churchville-Chili got a massive performance out of Kaitlyn Pozzuolo, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Pozzuolo has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Brooke DiGiacomo, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.
Churchville-Chili kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Brockport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of Hilton. On the bright side, the 12- run effort marked the Blue Devils' highest-scoring contest to date.
The win made it two in a row for Churchville-Chili and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Brockport, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Churchville-Chili couldn't quite get it done against Brockport in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 12-7. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
