Basketball Recap: Nathan Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter over University

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter and University squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 58-43 to the University Trailblazers. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nathan Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshawnn Henderson, who posted 11 points.

Max McComb was his usual excellent self, shooting 45% from the field en route to 15 points along with five rebounds and three blocks for University. McComb is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Faisal Mohamud, who earned 11 points and five assists.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for University, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-9.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for University, they will face off against Triton Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Triton Central has insisted on making their last three contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.
