Softball Recap: Cajon Cowboys vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cajon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Redlands East Valley Wildcats by a score of 8-5. This was payback for the Cowboys, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Madison Gallardo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Aleena Stevens tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Jaelyn Hear was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Cajon lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redlands East Valley didn't launched any.
Cajon's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Redlands East Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cajon is set to take on their familiar foe Redlands at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Redlands East Valley will face off against rival Yucaipa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.4, the Thunderbirds 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
