Recap: Patel Trailblazers vs. Tampa Prep Terrapins
The Patel Trailblazers suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Tampa Prep at home and fell 70-31. While losing is never fun, Patel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Tampa Prep is ranked 112th).
Despite the defeat, Patel had strong showings from SIMARKAE MCLEAN, who scored 14 points, and ARZ SOBOH, who scored eight points along with two blocks.
Patel has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Tampa Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Patel will face off against DeSoto County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. DeSoto County is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Tampa Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Academy at the Lakes at 6:00 p.m.
