Softball Game Preview: River View Black Bears vs. Sandy Valley Cardinals

The River View Black Bears will face off against the Sandy Valley Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. River View has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 21.

Things were looking good for River View after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Maysville by a score of 7-6.

Regan Foster was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Foster was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Rylee Lechner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sandy Valley owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against Tuscarawas Valley by a score of 3-0.

Sandy Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-6-1. As for River View, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.
