Resurrection Catholic and Taylorsville are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Eagles will square off against the Tartars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Resurrection Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Noxapater 8-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Taylorsville). They blew past Enterprise 19-6 on Sunday. The victory was familiar territory for the Tartars, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Caden Bester was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Taylorsville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Easton Ford, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Taylorsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Enterprise only managed six hits.

Resurrection Catholic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Taylorsville, their record is now 17-10.

Resurrection Catholic might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Taylorsville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
