The Brennan Bears are taking a road trip to take on the MacArthur Brahmas at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brennan will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
On Friday, Brennan beat Marshall 5-2.
Shepard Morris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brennan let Cayden Glass and Antonio Nunez run wild. Glass went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Nunez went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Adriano Nunez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, MacArthur got the win against Harlandale on Friday by a conclusive 11-1.
Aaron Villallobos was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for MacArthur: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-14-1 otherwise. Christian Castillo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
MacArthur was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Brennan's record now sits at 11-7. As for MacArthur, their record is now 8-14-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brennan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like MacArthur struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
