Basketball Recap: Venus Bulldogs vs. Palmer Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stephenville, Venus was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 45-36 win over the Palmer Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Venus also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenli Dobie, who posted eight points in addition to six steals. Another player making a difference was Lexey Maxwell, who had eight points plus 12 rebounds.
Venus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Palmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.
Venus will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Worth at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday. As for Palmer, they will take on Blue Ridge in a tournament on Thursday.
