Basketball Recap: Hunt Takes a Loss

Hunt saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a hard 63-45 fall against the Chapel Hill Tigers.

When it comes to explaining why Hunt lost, don't look at Austin Joyner. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-14 on his way to 17 points. Mark Dixon was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Chapel Hill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Niko Davis, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave Davis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah 'Juice' McIlwaine, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 16 points and seven boards.

Hunt's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Chapel Hill, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Hunt will head out to take on Hertford County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chapel Hill, they will face off against Seaforth at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
