Football Recap: Logan Russell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat West Point

Sunrise Mountain won the last time they faced West Point and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 27-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Sunrise Mountain got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Russell out in front who rushed for 68 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Sunrise Mountain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jesse Kirby and Hollis Maya. Preston Carney was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble, making nine total tackles (1.5 for loss), and defending one pass.

The victory got Sunrise Mountain back to even at 4-4. As for West Point, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
