Recap: Highland Huskies vs. Kendrick Tigers
The Highland Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Kendrick at home and fell 71-13. Highland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-8.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylee Beck, who scored two points along with 13 rebounds and four blocks. Beck has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 11 times she's played. Shyanne Stamper was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Even though they lost, Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Highland bumped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.8 points per game. As for Kendrick, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2.
Highland will head out on the road to face off against Nezperce at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kendrick, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Deary at 6:30 p.m.
