Football Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss

Johnson lost against Pickens back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights had to suffer through a 49-3 loss at the hands of the Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Dragons are ranked 148th).

Pickens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ike Wyngaard led the charge by rushing for 78 yards and one TD on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cal Morrison, who rushed for 28 yards and a pair of scores.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Pickens, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnson will square off against North Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Pickens, they will take on Greater Atlanta Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
