Football Game Preview: Conroe Tigers vs. Oak Ridge War Eagles

Conroe is 2-8 against Oak Ridge since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the War Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Conroe's defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so Oak Ridge's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Conroe took a loss when they played away from home on September 11th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 24-10 victory over New Caney.

The critical scores for Conroe came from Braylen Mills, Alex Spence Myers, and Cameron Nunley.

Conroe didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited New Caney to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Kd Williams for the heroic effort on defense: he. Conroe hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.47 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Conroe's defense also made the game a nightmare for the opposing QB, racking up seven sacks. Williams was especially locked on to New Caney's QB and sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 win over New Caney on Friday.

Oak Ridge now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Conroe, their record is now 3-1.

Conroe strolled past Oak Ridge in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 38-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
